But including all these random references to literally everything to ever exist in this world is just a big NO for me. i updated my earlier mantra and shouted from the rooftops: i would probably read any book that was categorized as YA and written by lynn painter. Our two main characters meet on a flight and years later run into each other and end up working together at a water park.

I loved that they also had multiple random meetings over the years before they even really got to know each other. Soon enough feelings between Bailey and Charlie begin to develop with the help of some “fake dating” but Charlie has a secret. i also felt like there were a couple missing strings - i wish bailey and her parents further talked out their issues. Like, years go by and they bump into each other at their new jobs in the same place and remember all these random quirks about each other? Better than the movies is one of the sweetest YA romances and I went into this one expecting the same, but honestly.seeing bailey navigate her feeling towards her mums new relationship and troubles with her dad was great too. Charlie insists that members of the opposite sex can’t just be friends, and Bailey is determined to prove him wrong.

in the beginning of the book he tries to come off as cool and different for not following laws but to me that only made him annoying. There was the ex’s, the fake dating to piss off mom’s boyfriend, the trying to maybe get rid of mom’s boyfriend, their coworkers and the bet, and also Charlie and Bailey falling for each other.and when charlie was a whole maniac over puffball, literally made me scream into my pillow it was so cute. I can relate to her since I am also really close to my mom, but unlike Bailey my parents are very much together and I'm close to both my parents. This is a person, who at worst, was your friend and at best, was someone you were hoping very much for more with, and this is the way they acted. it made no sense to me and just really pissed me off… none of charlie’s excuses for why he was so terrible were good ones and it just made him even more of a jerk in my eyes. I wished Charlie had a lil bit of bigger chapters because the angst from this chapters made me feel so much.

I understand I can change my preference through my account settings or unsubscribe directly from any marketing communications at any time. The emotion that tugged at me and kept me reading were their exchanges and vulnerability around how they felt about living with one of their divorced parents and how that impacted their life and their view of the world.I found the plot of the story started off a little slow for my liking, but once we got into the details of the story I couldn’t put the book down. Because in the scene mentioned below she's in the kitchen to eat breakfast but in Colorado she apparently doesn't? But they didn't talk that way around parents and in situations where it wouldn't be appropriate, so in that sense it felt pretty realistic.
